Casual Eclettico Milano opens its doors in the heart of the design capital

Casual Eclettico Milano opens its doors in the heart of the design capital

March 11, 2025. After Florence, now Milan. Italy is a priority market for Casual Hoteles. That's why the Spanish themed hotel chain has chosen the design capital to continue its expansion, and it has done so with a truly groundbreaking hotel, as is its trademark. We are referring to the Casual Eclettico Milano hotel, which, after joining the Spanish chain this year under lease, opened its doors on February 1, 2025.

The interior design team, as was the case with the Casual Rinascimento Firenze hotel, was Rizoma Architetture, founded in Bologna in 2009 by architect Giovanni Franceschelli and specializing primarily in developing innovative hotel and restaurant projects.

A design inspired by the disco and pop aesthetics of the 80s :

To redecorate the Casual Eclettico Milano hotel and its 43 rooms, Rizoma Architetture drew inspiration from the 1980s disco aesthetic and some of the most renowned Italian artists of the era, such as Ettore Sottsass, the founding architect of the Memphis group and known for challenging conventions through a postmodern aesthetic; and Elio Fiorucci, who knew how to combine clothing with pop culture, becoming a symbol of avant-garde style.

Located on the well-known Corso Buenos Aires, close to Milan Central Station and the Duomo, and next to Porta Venezia, the new Casual Eclettico Milano has been designed to blend in with its iconic neighborhood, known for its nightlife and eclectic aesthetic, which combines the elegance of late 19th-century Art Nouveau facades with the boldness and geometric elements of 1980s disco.

Thus, the interior of Casual Eclettico Milano is an explosion of color, enhanced by the combination of striking vinyl, wallpaper, and typical expressions of the era. The sublime touch is provided by lights and neon lights that evoke the 80s' love of brightness, straight-lined furniture, and animal sculptures that accentuate the disruptive nature of the pop aesthetic.

But if there's anything groundbreaking about Casual Eclettico Milano, it's its "total black" facade, which has led many in the fashion capital to refer to it as the "black hotel," and the antique photo booth that punctuates it, inviting visitors to immortalize their visit.

Casual Hoteles is a Valencian hotel company founded in 2013 by Juan Carlos Sanjuán, with the goal of becoming a benchmark for themed urban accommodations in Spain. All of its hotels feature unique decor inspired by the destinations in which they are located, and offer high-quality standards and central locations at affordable prices.

They are fun, surprising, and provocative, making Casual Hoteles a disruptive chain that, in 2018, was recognized with the Hostelco Award for “Best Hotel Concept”; in 2023, it won the First Prize for Sustainable Tourism from HOSBEC, in the category of “Best Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy”; and in 2024, it was chosen as “Chain with the Best Corporate Social Responsibility” at the 14th Roca Awards for Hotel Initiative.

In this sense, the group also stands out for its policy of strong social and environmental commitment through its own Code of Ethics, and for its collaborations with NGOs such as Save the Children and UNICEF, among others.

Casual Hoteles currently has 25 hotels and 872 rooms in 14 cities in Spain, Portugal, and Italy. One of these hotels is managed, 15 are leased, and 8 are franchised. It also plans to add two new hotels in Ibiza (42) and Naples (34) in 2025.

Casual Hoteles presents its first Sustainability Report

Casual Hoteles presents its first Sustainability Report

As of January 31, 2025. Since Casual Hoteles created its Sustainability department at the end of 2023, the Valencian company has focused its efforts on monitoring its actions to gain a clear picture of the economic, social, and environmental impact of its business. As a result of this exhaustive analysis, the hotel chain has prepared its first Sustainability Report, while also establishing its priorities for meeting the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN Global Compact's 2030 agenda.

Casual Hotels: a committed family business

In 2013, Juan Carlos Sanjuán founded Casual Hoteles with the goal of building urban hotels offering themed rooms with high standards of quality and service in city centers at a fair price. Under the motto "we make things happen," he wanted to grow his business while maintaining a balance between generating profitability and contributing to social development.

Eleven years later, the chain has 25 hotels and 854 rooms in 13 destinations in Spain and Portugal, and is preparing to add three more establishments this year: in Milan, where the Casual Eclettico Milano hotel will open its doors in a few days; Ibiza; and Naples.

The average hotel occupancy rate in 2024 was 91%, and customer satisfaction averaged 8.4 out of 10, according to the review website Trustpilot.

Regarding its commitment to society, its first Sustainability Report reflects how this commitment to preserving the environment, helping the most vulnerable, and creating sustainable employment is bearing fruit.

2030 Goal: Become CO2-neutral in energy supply

On an environmental level, and with the goal of further analyzing the evolution of its carbon footprint, Casual Hoteles conducted its first energy audits in 2024 and began monitoring water consumption at several of the group's hotels.

These analyses determined that the group's energy consumption at the end of 2024 was 278,275 kW, and water consumption per hotel reached 181 m3 per month.

In addition, two major environmental projects were implemented, which in just one year have already improved the chain's sustainable management. First, an agreement was signed with the retailer Conecta2 Energía, which will provide all its hotels with 100% green, non-polluting, clean, and sustainable electricity, produced exclusively from renewable sources such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal, marine, biomass, and biogas. Thanks to this, the group has avoided the emission of 1,134,000 kilos of CO2 into the atmosphere per year, equivalent to planting 24,450 trees or avoiding the use of 280 tons of oil equivalent (toe).

The other most notable initiative has been the construction of its own forest, in collaboration with the company Retree, where 673 trees have already been planted, regenerating an area of 7,403 m2, equivalent to 37 paddle tennis courts. The new trees have absorbed 2.28 tons of CO2, an amount similar to that generated by five flights from Madrid to London. The Bosque Casual, whose reforestation hotel guests can contribute to by choosing to allocate the cost of their room cleaning service to planting a tree, is located in Perales de la Alfama, an area of the Teruel steppe where more than 500 years ago there was a lush juniper forest.

Looking ahead, Casual Hoteles plans to continue reducing and offsetting its emissions until it achieves carbon neutrality by 2030. In this regard, it aims to promote decarbonization by eliminating the use of gas and diesel in its hotels; in addition to implementing other actions such as modernizing the hotels' air conditioning and hot water systems; installing home automation systems equipped with motion and window sensors in its rooms; and widespread consumption monitoring and energy audits to accurately measure its carbon footprint, among others.

Donation of products worth 194,492 euros to more than 500 families affected by DANA:

On a social level, Casual Hoteles has several corporate programs that seek to raise money to support NGOs such as Save the Children, the Red Cross, and UNICEF, among others. Through the latter, it raised €20,208.15 in 2024, which was allocated to child-related initiatives.

But aside from these projects, and others implemented to contribute to community initiatives related to the respective communities where the various hotels are located, the assistance provided to those affected by the DANA stood out in 2024.

As a chain of Valencian origin, where its president Juan Carlos Sanjuán is from, Casual Hoteles' reaction to the tragedy caused by the DANA was immediate.

The group allocated €179,492 to purchase household appliances and mattresses for a total of 469 families, who received this aid within weeks of the disaster. In addition, coinciding with the Christmas holidays, the chain delivered Christmas gift baskets worth €10,000 to 300 families, and piggy banks valued at €5,000. This represented an investment of €194,492 in products directly intended for those affected by the disaster.

A company with equal pay, with more than 80% permanent contracts:

On the other hand, on an economic level, Casual Hoteles has contributed to the economic development of the destinations where it operates. Not only through the wealth generated directly or indirectly for suppliers in the areas involved, but also through job creation.

In this regard, in 2024 it employed 278 employees, 71% of whom were women. This parity also existed at the management level, with 48% of these positions held by women.

Furthermore, it's worth highlighting the company's commitment to quality employment, with 80% of contracts being permanent; and to education, with a €12,475.50 investment in 555 hours of training for its employees throughout 2024.

According to the climate survey conducted by Casual Hoteles, in which half of its staff participated, the vast majority were very satisfied with working there and showed great attachment to the company and their respective teams, ruling out the possibility of changing employers in the short or medium term.

The reasons cited to justify this loyalty were primarily the benefits Casual Hoteles offers its employees, including flexible working hours, private health insurance, 100% company-paid training, and the implementation of the PAYFLOW tool, which allows employees to advance their paychecks at no cost, among others.

This year celebrate Valentine's Day in Granada (like a local)

This year celebrate Valentine's Day in Granada (like a local)

January 17, 2025. The city of Granada is known for inspiring artists, writers, and composers, such as Manuel de Falla, who set one of his masterpieces, "El Amor Brujo," in the city. Granada's magic transcends its cobblestone streets and the beautiful Alhambra, intoxicating its exoticism, allowing lovers to find within it the spark of passionate love.

Therefore, if you want to rekindle the flames of love, there's no better city to ignite love than Granada; so take advantage of Valentine's Day to visit it with your partner.

9 things to do in Granada to celebrate Valentine's Day :

The centrally located Casual Ilbira Granada hotel, an expert in the destination and known for theming its 41 rooms with some of the city's most iconic landmarks, reveals a plan to celebrate February 14th like a true local.

1. Walk along one of the most beautiful streets in the world :
Although many know it as the Paseo de los Tristes, Carrera del Darro, which connects Sacromonte and the Albaicín with the imposing Renaissance and Baroque Granada, under the watchful eye of the Alhambra, is also considered one of the most beautiful streets in the world. For this reason, it is a popular meeting point for Granada couples.

2. Olfactory experience to awaken the senses :
Right at the beginning of the Carrera del Darro is the Patio de los Perfumes. Located in a beautiful 16th-century Renaissance palace, it serves as a meeting point between East and West, offering perfumery workshops ideal for awakening all the senses in your soulmate.

3. Stop at the El Bañuelo tea shop :
Granada is a city to be explored slowly, stopping at iconic places like the El Bañuelo tea room. Located at the foot of the Alhambra and very close to the Paseo de los Tristes, this Nasrid-inspired enclave is a wonderful example of Granada's Carmen. Here, you can sweeten your love by tasting exquisite Arabic sweets bathed in honey and filled with nuts.

4. Sunset at the Mirador de San Nicolás :
Although Granada is full of viewpoints, the one that tends to attract the most couples is the Mirador de San Nicolás, where you can look at the Alhambra face to face, while observing what many consider one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world.

5. Dinner at one of the most romantic restaurants in the world :
Popular wisdom says that love is also won through the belly. Therefore, this romantic getaway to Granada cannot miss a dinner with a view, of course, of the Alhambra. The Carmen de Aben Humeya restaurant, built on two old Moorish houses from the 14th and 15th centuries, is one of the most visited by locals. In addition to its exquisite contemporary cuisine, its panoramic garden is one of the features most appreciated by locals.

6. Night visit to the Alhambra :
Nighttime invites contemplation and passion, so there's no better time to visit the ever-present Alhambra than at dusk. During the winter, last entry is at 8:00 PM. Don't miss it! Wandering through its rooms and the Patio de los Leones under the dim yellow light adds a touch of romance and mystery to this World Heritage site.

7. Flamenco show at Cueva Los Tarantos :
As Manuel de Falla reflected in “El Amor Brujo,” Granada is a gypsy city, and one cannot leave without attending a wonderful flamenco show like the one offered every night at Cueva Los Tarantos, located in the heart of Sacromonte.

8. Relaxation time in an Arab bath :
If your romantic Valentine's Day getaway is two days long, set aside a morning to discover one of Granada's best-kept secrets: its wonderful Hammam Al Ándalus Granada. It might take a while to find, as it's located on a narrow but central street, in a 13th-century building that once housed an Arab bath. Don't be fooled by the small entrance, because its interior is spacious and wonderful. An oasis of peace to reconnect with your partner and yourself.

9. Stay in a hotel full of romantic experiences :
As the finishing touch to this getaway, there's nothing better than staying at a centrally located hotel like Casual Ilbira Granada , located in the heart of the Realejo (the old Jewish quarter), from where you can easily complete all these visits on foot. They also offer romantic experiences such as toasting with a bottle of cava (Casual Bubbles) in a room customized for the destination; finding your bed covered in beautiful rose petals (Casual Senses); or ending a wonderful evening in the sweetest way possible with an exquisite cake (Casual Sweet). Any of these services can be requested when booking on the Casual Hoteles website.

Accommodation in a double room with breakfast from 153 euros per night.
Extra services: Casual Bubbles (12 euros), Casual Senses (10 euros) and Casual Sweet (12 euros).

Casual Hoteles begins 2025 by expanding its presence in Italy.

January 10, 2025. For Casual Hoteles, 2025 will be a year of international expansion. This is evident from its upcoming opening, announced today by its president, Juan Carlos Sanjuán.

The chosen destination was Italy, where the Valencian chain entered in 2022 with the iconic Casual Rinascimento Firenze hotel. This time, the city will be Milan, where Casual Eclettico Milano will open its doors on February 1st.

According to Juan Carlos Sanjuán, “This is a centrally located 43-room establishment that, as is typical of our chain, enjoys a privileged location very close to Milan Central Station and the Duomo, and just a few meters from the famous shopping street Corso Buenos Aires.”

Regarding its theming, he explains, “Milan is a cosmopolitan city where design is present on every corner. That's why we wanted Casual Eclettico Milano to have a completely eclectic decor, fusing very retro elements with more avant-garde ones. It also stands out for being the only hotel in Milan with a black facade, and for having a photo booth that invites you to travel back in time to take photos in front of it.”

2025: 3 confirmed openings :

In addition to the opening of Casual Ecleticco Milano, Casual Hoteles plans to open two more hotels in 2025: the 42-room Casual Bahía Ibiza, which will open its season next April; and the 34-room Casual Miraviglie Napoli, which could open during the second half of this year.

Thanks to this, and barring any unforeseen events, the Valencian company will close 2025 with a total of 28 hotels and 973 rooms, distributed across 15 cities in Spain (22), Italy (3), and Portugal (3). However, new projects currently under analysis may be added before the end of the year.

What should I do with my pet at Christmas? Travel

What should I do with my pet at Christmas? Travel

As of December 10, 2024, for many travelers, Christmas is all about celebrating with family. This is probably the reason why December is the month with the most pet-friendly stays in hotels, as many travelers consider them to be part of the family.

At least that's the case at Casual Hoteles, the Spanish chain that pioneered the option of reserving pet-friendly rooms on its website, just like it does for adults and children.

What is the profile of travelers with pets?

According to sources from the Valencian group, "in 2023, the peak in bookings for shared rooms with pets occurred in December. In that month, the pet segment's share was the highest of the year, reaching 4.23%. 48.6% of guests who stayed at the group's hotels in December of last year were Spanish, and the remaining 51.4% were international tourists, mostly from Italy, France, and the United Kingdom, with the former having the highest average price. In terms of type, almost all were couples."

These are the hotels that welcomed the most pets during Christmas 2023 :

Regarding hotels, the Casual Hoteles establishment that accommodated the most pets during the December long weekend and Christmas 2023 was Casual Las Olas San Sebastián, followed by Casual Con Duende Cádiz, Casual Vintage Valencia, and Casual Jazz San Sebastián.

Everything seems to indicate that these pet-friendly hotels could repeat this year as the favorites for pet lovers, especially in the case of Valencia, a destination that is struggling to recover from a tourist standpoint, despite the fact that the city and the main tourist areas are in perfect condition and need tourists to return now to reactivate the economy.

When pets are treated like another member of the family :

The secret to attracting this segment of guests who travel with pets lies in treating them as if they were a member of the family. That's why, at Casual Hoteles, pets receive a complimentary welcome kit upon arrival, which includes a sleeping bed, a food and water bowl, and a snack upon arrival.

Additionally, if you book through the website www.casualhoteles.com, your stay is free. Another distinctive benefit, demonstrating the attention the Valencian group pays to guests staying with pets, is that they allow up to two pets with a maximum weight of 25 kilos each. However, this last requirement is flexible and can be analyzed individually if any animal exceeds this weight.

Finally, it's worth highlighting the freedom that Casual Hoteles establishments give guests to allow their pets to roam the premises, provided they are accompanied by their owners, with one exception: they cannot enter the breakfast buffet.

If you don't want to be separated from your pets this Christmas, travel with a stay at one of the 25 Casual Hoteles properties in 13 destinations in Spain, Italy, and Portugal. We look forward to seeing you.

THIS CHRISTMAS TRAVEL WITH YOUR PET

Stay at a Casual Hoteles property and enjoy this welcome kit for your pet.

Note: If you book online, your pet stays free. Triple and quadruple rooms available for families and groups of friends.

If you're going skiing in Sierra Nevada this year, stay one night in Granada.

If you're going skiing in Sierra Nevada this year, stay one night in Granada.

November 21, 2024. With the start of the winter season, many people are starting to plan a snowy getaway. If this applies to you, and you're planning a ski trip to Sierra Nevada, reserve at least one day to enjoy the city of Granada.

Like other provincial capitals, Granada has become a top-tier tourist destination. Not only for its artistic wealth and historical legacy, represented primarily by the Alhambra and the Cathedral, but also for its quality hotel offerings and the wide range of activities it offers for the whole family.

From strolls along the viewpoints of the Albaicín, tours of the old souk, emulating Tadeo Jones in "The Secret of King Midas," and tasting Arabic sweets in the tea room street, to relaxing sessions in a beautiful hammam or authentic performances in a flamenco tablao, among many other possibilities.

If you stay at the centrally located Casual Ilbira Granada hotel, located in the heart of the Realejo neighborhood, you can explore all these attractions on foot. Plus, thanks to its original interior design, you can immerse yourself in the destination without leaving the property, as its 41 themed rooms feature designs from different parts of the city. One of them is dedicated to the Sierra Nevada.

Go skiing for the day:

Another option for winter sports enthusiasts is to stay in Granada, taking advantage of the lower rates offered by city hotels during the winter season, and head to the Sierra Nevada for a day of skiing.

Whether you travel by car, private transportation, or take the scheduled buses that connect Granada and Sierra Nevada three times a day during the week and four times a day on weekends, it will take you less than an hour to get there and hit the slopes. If you want to travel light, rent equipment at any of the resort's shops and book your ski pass in advance to avoid lines.

After your day in the snow, return to Granada and, if you still have the energy, enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the many restaurants in Plaza de Bib Rambla, and end the evening with a stroll along the beautiful Paseo de los Tristes at the foot of the majestic Alhambra. We look forward to seeing you there!

It will also explore the beautiful Paseo de los Tristes, which once led to the city cemetery, and recount the story of two young people on the legendary Calle del Beso, among many other stops.

Triple and quadruple rooms for families and groups :

As with other Casual Hoteles establishments, Casual Ilbira Granada offers triple and quadruple rooms with spacious, real beds, not folding beds, as is usually the case. This allows groups of friends or families to share a room and sleep in comfortable beds that guarantee everyone a good night's sleep, something very necessary when spending the day exploring the city on foot.

Casual Hotels has a good summer season

Casual Hotels has a good summer season

September 23, 2024. 2024 is proving to be a good year for Casual Hoteles in terms of expansion, with the recent opening of its 25th hotel, and the announcement of its entry into Ibiza starting in 2025; but it's also proving to be a good year in terms of revenue.

In this regard, the Valencian chain founded in 2013 by Juan Carlos Sanjuán has just published the results obtained by its hotels during the summer. In terms of revenue, during the months of June, July, and August, when average occupancy was 94.80%, the hotel group earned €8,677,356 million, compared to the €8,088,778 million achieved in the same period in 2023, representing an increase of 7.28%.

Part of this improvement is due to the continued growth in REVPAR, whose average during the three summer months stood at €111.24, compared to €104.05 in 2023, an increase of 6.91% compared to the previous year.

Barring any unforeseen events, the outlook for the final quarter of the year remains on an upward trend, with REVPAR still showing room for growth.

Consolidation of the international market :

Regarding the profile of guests who stayed at Casual Hoteles establishments from June to August, the international market continues to rise, now generating 73.78%, compared to 26.22% for the domestic market, which has decreased by 0.56% compared to the summer of 2023.

Generally speaking, the rise in these foreign tourists is also linked to improved incomes, as they excel in several ways: they tend to pay higher rates, book earlier, spend more, and stay longer.

After Spaniards, Italian tourists lead the ranking of guests at Casual Hoteles establishments, generating 14.43% of stays, a figure that has increased by 9.93% compared to 2023, when it was 13.09%.

Behind them, completing the top 5 nationalities, are, as in the previous year, the French, the British, and the Americans, with 6.85%, 5.45%, and 5.26%, respectively.

Prevent your pet from getting lost during the holidays

Prevent your pet from getting lost during the holidays

As of August 26, 2024, Casual Hoteles was a pioneer in the world of pet-friendly hotels by being the first chain to allow pet reservations at its hotels through its website, incorporating an additional space in addition to the usual ones for adults and children.

A leading role the group has nurtured since its creation 11 years ago, making pet reservations free at its 25 establishments (maximum 2 pets per reservation) when made through the chain's website ( www.casualhoteles.com ); and creating a pet welcome kit as a complimentary gift, which includes a sleeping bed, a food and water bowl, and a snack upon arrival.

New smart gift for your pet :

Casual Hoteles wanted to go further and, thanks to the signing of an agreement with Dogotea, one of the most innovative companies in the pet care sector, to carry out a pilot plan that integrates an additional smart gift into its pet welcome kit.

Initially, this initiative is being implemented in three of its most emblematic pet-friendly hotels in Spain and Portugal. Starting August 1, guests staying with pets at the Casual Las Olas San Sebastián, Casual Belle Époque Lisbon, and Casual Raizes Porto hotels will receive a complementary smart identification tag as a gift (limited numbers will be available during the trial period of this initiative).

The tag Dogotea uses to connect animals to its pioneering app stands out for being waterproof and battery-free, as its data is read via NFC or a QR code.

This way, if your dog goes missing during your vacation, you can immediately notify the Dogotea community through the app and communicate in real time with the people who find it via WhatsApp, Telegram, or phone call.

Furthermore, by signing up for the Dogotea app and website, you can start enjoying many other benefits, such as including your pet's medical information and vaccinations in your profile, in case someone other than you needs access to them at any time. You can also manage other matters related to your pet's care, such as measurements, feeding guidelines, and expense control, among many other benefits.

Access to a global pet-friendly community :

The agreement signed by Casual Hoteles and Dogotea also includes the inclusion of 16 of the chain's hotels in the pet-friendly hotel recommendations offered on its website. Another of the most interesting aspects of Dogotea is that, often thanks to the recommendations of its users, it has created a global community of pet lovers, eager for suggestions of places they can visit with their pets during their vacations and travels. From restaurants, museums, amusement parks, and beaches to, of course, hotels like those the Valencian chain Casual has in Spain, Italy, and Portugal.

Summer: the season when people travel most with pets :

During the first eight months of 2024, Casual Hoteles properties booked more than 1,400 pet packages, compared to the 1,261 offered during the same period last year. During that time, the chain's hotel with the most visits from tourists with pets was Casual Las Olas San Sebastián, with a total of 401 pets. Following behind were Casual con Duende Cádiz, and the Casual Belle Époque Lisboa and Casual Raizes Porto hotels in Portugal, a country increasingly visited by pet lovers.

According to Casual Hoteles, summer, especially the months of July and August, is, along with Christmas, the time of year when most guests travel with pets.

Discover what tourists who travel with pets are like :

According to Casual Hoteles, the data from guests who stayed at their hotels with pets this summer reveals a typical tourist profile, with the following characteristics: couples traveling without children, with an average age of 44, and an average stay of 1.86 days. Most make their reservations 25 days in advance, a slightly higher amount than in the summer of 2023, when the advance notice was 22 days.

In terms of nationality, Casual Hotels saw Spanish travelers leading the way with 41% of these trips, although foreigners accounted for more, accounting for the remaining 59%. At the European level, this summer, the number of tourists traveling with dogs, cats, and other pets from France, Italy, and Germany stood out, accounting for 9%, 7%, and 6%, respectively.

About Dogotea :

Dogotea is an innovative Spanish startup founded in 2023, dedicated to developing technological solutions that improve the well-being and safety of pets. Based in Asturias, the company has a team of five professionals passionate about animals and technology. The Dogotea app was designed to facilitate comprehensive pet care management, from monitoring their health to identifying them in case of loss. The company has grown rapidly, expanding its community internationally, with users in more than 20 countries.

Dogotea stands out for its commitment to innovation, offering products such as smart ID tags, which use NFC technology and QR codes to ensure pets are always connected and protected. Furthermore, Dogotea has positioned itself as a key player in creating a global network of pet lovers, promoting pet-friendly destinations and services so owners can enjoy their pets with complete peace of mind. With a focus on user-centeredness and pet safety, Dogotea continues to set trends in the pet care sector.

Casual Hotels and Rituals sign an agreement to incorporate these luxury amenities

Casual Hotels and Rituals sign an agreement to incorporate these luxury amenities

July 25, 2024. When Juan Carlos Sanjuán created the Casual Hoteles chain 11 years ago, one of his goals was to offer an experience that exceeded his guests' expectations. He has achieved this by creating hotels where the rooms play a central role, incorporating a theme that enhances their value, connects them to the destination, and welcomes visitors, inviting them to experience unique experiences.

To promote these experiences, the Valencian group has just signed an agreement with the luxury cosmetics brand Rituals, which has resulted in the incorporation of these exclusive amenities in all of Casual's hotels in Spain, Italy, and Portugal.

The implemented collections belong to the Karma and Mehr lines and are presented in 300 ml refillable dispensers, which have achieved another important goal: minimizing the consumption of single-use plastics and promoting the sustainability that Casual Hoteles supports in all its actions.

The products available to guests in each room include liquid soap, shampoo, body cream, and hand soap.

Mood-boosting amenities to start your day with vitality:

The collections chosen by Casual Hoteles for its hotels are two of Rituals' most recognized lines, for their excellent fragrances and the benefits they provide to their guests.

On the one hand, Karma products are inspired by the Hindu belief that living with good intentions, giving kind words, and thinking positively generates good karma. To enhance that positive energy typical of summer and extend it year-round, Karma includes a scent made with white tea and sacred lotus flower, which improves mood and encourages people to spread kindness and good vibes to the rest of the world.

At the same time, the Mehr line also seeks to improve mood and help channel vitality. This time, the inspiration comes from the Persian civilization, where Mehr, the sun god, was synonymous with kindness and love. To instill a feeling of warmth and happiness, Mehr products combine the sweet, fresh, aromatic, and sparkling scent of sweet orange, which stimulates energy and good humor, with the aromatic cedarwood essential oil and its stimulating woody fragrance, which helps illuminate the soul.

If you want a sustainable vacation that improves your mood, stay at one of the 25 Casual Hoteles properties in 13 cities in Spain, Italy, and Portugal. Enjoy the experience by starting each day with a revitalizing shower thanks to Rituals' exclusive luxury skincare products. We look forward to seeing you!

About Rituals:

Founded in 2000 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Rituals was the first brand to combine home and body products. It is a company dedicated to personal well-being within the luxury cosmetics sector, creating collections that are beneficial to people and the planet, based on three pillars: clean, conscious, and committed. To this end, all its formulas use more than 90% ingredients of natural origin. Rituals currently has more than 1,000 stores in 36 countries around the world.

Casual adds its 25th hotel

June 27, 2024. Summer has begun with excellent news for Casual Hoteles , and on July 4th its 25th hotel will open its doors: Casual Fuentes Bilbao .

This 12-room hotel, recently completely renovated, enjoys a privileged location in the heart of the city's historic center, next to Plaza Nueva. Its theming was inspired by Bilbao's legendary fountains, which are part of the city's urban and historical heritage.

With this addition, which corresponds to a franchise agreement, Bilbao becomes the Spanish city with the most hotels, and the third largest in number of rooms.

According to Juan Carlos Sanjuán , president of Casual Hoteles, “we are very pleased to continue consolidating the franchise agreement we maintain with the owners of the hotels we own in Bilbao. An alliance that began 10 years ago and has grown to reach the current figure of 6 hotels and 84 rooms. All with exceptional locations in the center of a city that has become a first-class tourist destination, both nationally and internationally. In this regard, according to Eustat data, in 2023 a total of 1,151,352 tourists visited the city of Bilbao, accounting for 68.2% of all visits to Vizcaya; and with an increase of 10.9% compared to 2022.”

Casual Hotels lands in Ibiza

June 17, 2024. The year 2024 is proving to be very positive for the Valencian chain Casual Hoteles . On the one hand, because they are going to meet their forecasts financially, and this year will be better than 2023. And on the other, because the group founded by Juan Carlos Sanjuán is taking great strides to boost the company's expansion in priority Mediterranean destinations, having consolidated its business following COVID-19.

Thus, following the announcement earlier this year about the signing of an agreement to incorporate the Casual Miraviglie Napoli, Casual Hoteles has now confirmed that it will open its first hotel in the Balearic Islands in 2025.

According to Juan Carlos Sanjuán, president of Casual Hoteles, “Casual Bahía Ibiza, located in Sant Josep de Sa Talaia, will open in April 2025. The hotel will have 42 rooms and will be rented. Like our other properties, the property, which is undergoing renovation, will be themed with a Mediterranean-inspired project designed by interior designer Raquel Sanjuán Studio.”

With this new establishment, and the planned new opening in Naples, Casual Hoteles will increase its portfolio to a total of 26 hotels and 947 rooms in 15 cities in Spain, Portugal, and Italy.

These are hotel rooms for 4 people.

These are hotel rooms for 4 people.

As of June 10, 2024. One of the notable attributes of the Casual Hoteles chain is that some of its properties offer "real" quadruple rooms. This is due to the actual spaciousness of the rooms, the fact that they have three and four "real" beds, and do not use extra beds.

Something that, according to Susana Martínez, director of Casual de las Olas San Sebastián, "is highly valued by the clients who frequently use them, such as families with teenage children; groups of friends; and athletes who come to San Sebastián for sporting events and need a good night's rest. Something that is difficult if you sleep in a folding bed."

The Casual de las Olas San Sebastián hotel is precisely one of the Casual Hoteles establishments that best represents this category of quadruple rooms, with 10% of its 61 rooms being in this category. All rooms, except one with bunk beds, consist of a large double bed and two spacious single beds, ensuring the comfort of all occupants.

The hotel also has 5 triple rooms, which share the same spaciousness and are equipped with 2 and 3 real beds, to suit the needs of those who prefer a double bed and a single bed, or 3 single beds.

If you're planning a getaway with family or friends this summer and, to save money, want to book a single room for 3 or 4 people, choose a hotel like Casual de las Olas San Sebastián, where the triple and quadruple rooms are "real."

Casual Hotels chosen as the "Chain with the best Corporate Social Responsibility"

June 7, 2024. Casual Hoteles is in luck, having just been chosen as the "Chain with the Best Corporate Social Responsibility" at the 14th Roca Awards for Hotel Initiative, one of the best-known in the tourism sector in our country.

According to Juan Carlos Sanjuán, president of Casual Hoteles, who accepted the award at a gala held yesterday in Barcelona, "These awards recognize the efforts we are making to reduce the impact our actions have on the environment, to guarantee the future of new generations through social change, and to ensure that our business offers absolutely responsible and sustainable tourism."

In this regard, he recalled that, “Since we created our own Sustainability department in 2023, we have intensified the development of initiatives that are helping us reduce our company's carbon footprint and drive change in our society. These include the signing of an agreement with the marketing company Conecta2 Energía, which provides our establishments with clean and 100% sustainable energy, exclusively from renewable sources; the implementation of an ecological cleaning system with ionized water; and our recent participation in the regeneration of a forest that was deforested 500 years ago to build the ships of the Spanish Armada, among many others.”

At the same time, he concludes, "We were the first hotel chain to create a social movement aimed at changing its environment, going beyond a purely economic objective. The Casual Movement, which we launched last March, seeks a shared transformation of society through positive change, in which we have invited companies, individuals, and institutions to participate. For us, every personal change, no matter how small, contributes to the transformation of the world."

This is the second award this year, recognizing Casual Hoteles' Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. Last January, the chain was recognized with the First Sustainable Tourism Award from HOSBEC in the "Best Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy" category.

UNICEF Friends of Hotels program a great success

UNICEF Friends of Hotels program a great success

May 27, 2024. This morning, Casual Hoteles presented the check to the UNICEF Valencian Community Committee for the awareness-raising and fundraising activities carried out throughout 2023 at 13 of the hotel chain's properties, totaling €27,009.27. This amount allows UNICEF to provide drinking water to 2,571 children for a full year.

Since Casual Hoteles began collaborating with the UNICEF Valencian Community Committee in 2017 as part of the UNICEF Friends Hotels program, the chain's establishments have raised a total of €81,440.68 through this program, an amount that will enable UNICEF to provide drinking water to 7,755 children for a year.

During the event, the president and founder of Casual Hoteles, Juan Carlos Sanjuán, emphasized that "it is vital for us to always seek a balance between business and social development. To achieve this, since our inception, we have implemented social responsibility in everything we do, incorporating this awareness into all of the chain's operations and engaging both our employees and our customers. In this regard, we are very grateful to all the people who have participated in the various campaigns and initiatives we have organized to help children around the world have a better childhood."

For his part, Celestino Suárez, President of the UNICEF Valencian Community Committee, praised "Casual Hoteles' invaluable commitment to children, which has continued over the years and through crises, such as the pandemic. Thanks to their support, the lives of specific children are transformed with safe access to water and sanitation, which is their right," and encouraged other hotels in the Valencian Community to join the initiative.

About UNICEF Friends Hotels Spain:

UNICEF Spain's Friends of Hotels program allocates the funds raised to combat the effects of climate change on children. Thanks to this commitment, it is possible to expand access to adequate water, sanitation, and hygiene services for families and communities lacking them.

With the significant support of partners like Casual Hoteles and programs like Hoteles Amigos de UNICEF, the organization works in more than 100 countries to help provide access to safe drinking water and reliable sanitation.

These services are essential for children's survival and development. With the intensification of heat waves, floods, and droughts—natural disasters exacerbated by climate change—water distribution systems (reservoirs, pipes, fountains, etc.) are often destroyed. Furthermore, these phenomena leave contaminated water in their wake, endangering children's lives due to outbreaks of diseases such as cholera and diarrhea.

Through the Friends Hotels program, a program that promotes responsible tourism, all businesses in the tourism sector and their clients can contribute to combating the consequences of climate change for children. Participating hotels conduct awareness campaigns on the impact of climate change on water and raise funds for UNICEF's water and sanitation programs.

Guests can also donate during check-in at participating hotels or participate in events and activities sponsored by the hotels. For €1, UNICEF can provide drinking water to a child for a month.

Climate change directly affects the health, education, protection, and development of children, especially those living in the poorest areas. This can have irreversible effects on children, but it can be halted with actions aimed at improving access to adequate water, sanitation, and hygiene.

In 2022, nearly 120 million people gained access to safe drinking water, 26 million gained at least basic sanitation services, and 39 million people gained access to water, sanitation, and hygiene services in humanitarian emergencies (including crises in Gaza, Ukraine, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Mozambique, and others).

About UNICEF:

UNICEF works in some of the world's toughest places to reach the world's most disadvantaged children. In 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for all.

Casual Hotels signs an agreement with Welcome Pickups

As of May 23, 2024, Casual Hoteles has set a clear goal: to improve its guests' travel experience, from the moment they arrive at their destination until they return home.

To this end, in addition to incorporating the ability to book all kinds of experiences in the cities where its hotels are located from its own website at the beginning of the year, it has now signed an agreement with the Greek startup Welcome Pickups to also facilitate transfers from the airport or train station to its establishment.

Thanks to this alliance, the implementation of which has been a technological challenge that has been a complete success, customers arriving at any of the Spanish destinations where Casual Hoteles is present (Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Malaga, Cadiz, Seville, Granada, Benidorm and San Sebastian), or the cities of Lisbon, Porto and Florence where it also has hotels, can travel peacefully knowing that upon arrival a professional Welcome Pickup driver will be waiting to make their immersion in the destination as professional, pleasant and local as possible.

The service can also be requested for the return trip, and even to other places of interest in the cities, with the convenience of being able to pre-book it, know the price in advance, pay directly through the app, and, barring unforeseen events, be guaranteed the driver's punctuality.

Casual Ilbira Granada participates in the Festival of the Crosses of May

Casual Ilbira Granada participates in the Festival of the Crosses of May

May 2, 2024. About to turn five months old, the centrally located Casual Ilbira Granada hotel is now fully integrated into the square. Proof of this is the tribute it will pay tomorrow, May 3, to the city's cultural heritage, coinciding with the celebration of the Festival of the Crosses of May.

To celebrate this special occasion, Casual Ilbira Granada has created its own cross, which, as tradition dictates, will include a "pero" (apple) pierced by scissors to avoid any potential objections to its design. Measuring 2 meters high and 1.21 meters wide, the cross has been decorated in Casual Hoteles ' signature pink, yellow, green, and blue.

In addition to this initiative, which aims to delve into the customs of Granada, the establishment will offer a plate of "habas y salaillas" (beans and salads) to guests staying at the hotel that day who visit its charming reception from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

With all this, Casual Ilbira Granada aims to promote Granada's attractions, just as it already does with its themed room designs, which feature some of the city's most famous spots, such as the Calle de las Teterías (Tea Shop Street), the Generalife Garden, the Paseo de los Tristes (Walk of the Tribes), the Sacromonte Caves, and even the Sierra Nevada, among many others.

Casual Hotels launches “Casual Movement”

Casual Hotels launches “Casual Movement”

April 19, 2024. The story of Casual Hoteles itself is an example of overcoming challenges. That's why the Valencian hotel group has sought to become the first chain to create a movement aimed at changing its environment, going beyond a purely economic objective.

This is the Casual Movement, which was presented to society yesterday, Thursday, April 18, at 7:00 p.m., at a grand inspirational event held at the emblematic Zeus Building in La Marina, Valencia.

Among the nearly 200 people attending the event were the directors of the chain's hotels, many family members, and a large number of business leaders, public representatives, and members of Valencian society, such as Nuria Montes, Minister of Innovation, Industry, Commerce, and Tourism of the Valencian Community; Federico Fuster, president of Hosbec; and Tono Franco, manager of Visit Valencia, among others.

What is the Casual Movement?

Casual Movement is an initiative born within Casual Hotels. It seeks to further promote the values that drive positive change, both for businesses and individuals.

It is based on the belief that each person's positive actions trigger change , not only in their own lives but also in those closest to them. For Casual Hoteles, the driving force behind the Casual Movement, personal changes , no matter how small, can lead to a butterfly effect that results in a much broader and more global shared transformation.

In this regard, the Casual Movement plans to implement various lines of work that will involve companies and institutions, support initiatives for change, teach inspirational and action-oriented courses, hold sectoral meetings, and carry out events and communication activities like the one held yesterday, Thursday, which served to launch this pioneering and revolutionary transformation project.

Manifesto of the Casual Movement :

The Casual Movement manifesto reflects the essence of an initiative that moves and inspires businesses and, above all, people. It is a set of words that shape the genesis of a utopia that Casual Hotels believes is achievable.
  • We believe in the power of dreams and ideas as a driving force for personal change that will contribute to the transformation of the world.
  • We believe in the value of attitude as a weapon of mass creation. In the value of the individual, when it adds value, not when it subtracts.
  • Against those who believe that destiny is predetermined, we demand the right to express our opinions and decide. To take the initiative and define the goals that inspire us. To take control of our desires and choose our own path.
  • We believe in courage, boldness, and rebellion as essential elements of life's journey. Because in the face of uncertainty, the only possible response is action.
  • We affirm that the splendor of the world is enriched by the talent of each and every one of us. A diverse and unique talent that must be protected and promoted, elevating it to the highest expression of who we are and what we aspire to be.
  • We want to contribute to the improvement of society as a show of determination, not just as a mere posture. We aspire to achieve goals and achieve results, going beyond simple gestures of support for important causes.
  • We want to join the adventurers who are always looking for a new horizon, those who yearn to discover new places and rediscover new versions of the familiar.
  • We want to be traveling companions for those who aspire every day to make the world their world.
  • We are aware that true revolution is born from a nonconformist attitude that transforms and always seeks to improve the present.
This was the presentation event of Movimiento Casual :

The presentation of Movimiento Casual took place yesterday, April 18th, at 7:00 PM, in the emblematic Zeus Building in the Marina of Valencia. It was presented by renowned Valencian journalist Carolina Ferré and featured a cast of well-known figures who shared examples of transformational narratives. Drawing on their own life experiences, they demonstrated how a series of pivotal events led them to make significant changes in their lives.

The chosen speakers were Timpers co-founder Diego Solivellas, comedian and presenter Ángel Martín, coach Ana Albiol, entrepreneur and speaker Sergio Ayala, and Juan Carlos Sanjuán himself, president and founder of Casual Hoteles, among others.

The gala featured a performance by Las WOT (Women On Top), a vocal group made up of three Valencian women known for their pin-up-style makeup and three-part harmonies, performing a variety of musical styles. From rock & roll to soo-wap and rhythm & blues, among others. A cocktail reception concluded a transformative event that marked the beginning of a movement that will generate a lot of buzz.

March 15, 2024. As is typical of most establishments in the Casual Hoteles thematic chain, the Casual del Teatro Madrid enjoys a privileged location in the heart of the capital ( Calle de Echegaray, 1 ).

This proximity to the city's main tourist attractions makes it an ideal hotel for exploring Madrid's historic center on foot, and for fully experiencing both the day and Madrid's famous nightlife.

Furthermore, for Holy Week lovers, the Teatro Madrid's Casual is located along the route of some of Madrid's most iconic processions, such as the Christ of Medinaceli and the Christ of the Gypsies. If this is your case, and you want to attend the processions this year without any jostling and with a front-row seat, stay in one of the exterior rooms at the Hotel Casual del Teatro Madrid. From their windows, and in some cases balconies, you can observe the penitents and calmly share their silence and devotion.

Casual Hotels adds the ability to purchase experiences from its website

Casual Hotels adds the ability to purchase experiences from its website

As of February 29, 2024, Casual Hoteles is a themed chain that typically links its interior design to the main tourist attractions of the destinations where its properties are located. Its focus on promoting the cities that host its hotels has been taken further with one of its latest initiatives.

We're referring to the addition of a new experiences section to its website , where you can purchase tickets to many of the shows held in the cities where it operates. In the initial phase, this initiative has included activities taking place in the Spanish destinations where it operates (Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Malaga, Cadiz, Seville, Granada, Benidorm, and San Sebastian), and they plan to expand this option to Lisbon and Porto in the near future.

According to Juan Carlos Sanjuán , president and founder of Casual Hoteles, “ Many of the guests who stay at our properties do so because of the excellent location they offer. This demonstrates the great interest many of them have in getting to know the cities they visit, and there's no better way to achieve this than by staying in the heart of those cities and being able to walk to many of their tourist attractions .”

That motivation, he explains, " along with the desire to strengthen our relationship with our guests, improve the services we provide, and increase their loyalty, is what led us to undertake this interesting project. Thanks to it, we enrich and streamline our guests' destination experience, who arrive at the hotels with their visit program already prepared and guaranteed access to their favorite shows ."

From musicals and museums to amusement parks, guided tours and tastings :

In 2023, 64.1% of Casual Hoteles guests were foreigners. In some cases, they aren't familiar with all the tourist attractions in the cities they're visiting in Spain, so Casual Hoteles' new experiences section makes it easier for them to identify the events that best suit their tastes and travel preferences.

Thus, it segments its content into different themes, such as leisure parks, culture, relaxation, gastronomy, wine, escape rooms, and sports, among many others. It allows a guest of your hotel in Madrid to purchase tickets online to some of the best musicals on the Madrid schedule, others to Warner Park, Puy du Fou, or the Prado Museum, or a guided tour of the Santiago Bernabéu. While another guest in Cádiz can purchase a whale-watching excursion in Tarifa or visit a flamenco show or winery in Jerez, among many other options.

Casual Hoteles is working to ensure that guests can benefit from discounts and other benefits in the future if they book tours and excursions through this new experiences section.

The best hotels to enjoy Las Fallas from above

The best hotels to enjoy Las Fallas from above

February 15, 2024. The Fallas of Valencia are one of the most visited popular festivals in our country. Their fame is such that they have been declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. This means that the number of visitors continues to grow. For this reason, some people prefer to enjoy them from above, located in privileged observation decks such as the balconies and terraces of the centrally located Casual Vintage Valencia hotel.

This iconic establishment, located in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, offers unbeatable views of everything happening in this strategic meeting point, both during the "plantá" (plantation) of the Fallas festival and the famous "mascletás" (mascletàs), which fill the city center with the scent of gunpowder and striking sounds.

Central location, a requirement of every Casual hotel :

This location in the heart of Valencia is one of the defining attributes of most of the Casual Hoteles chain's properties. In fact, the group's other four hotels (Casual del Cine Valencia, Casual Socarrat Valencia (adults-only), Casual de la Música Valencia, and Casual de las Civilizaciones) in Valencia are located near some of the city's main tourist attractions.

Casual Hotels, a chain of Valencian origin :

And another of the qualities that unites Casual hotels is their Valencian origins. This means that during Las Fallas, they all strive to blend in with the city's atmosphere and offer their visitors the best of Valencia.

In addition to "planting" their own ninots in their respective receptions, during the celebration of Las Fallas (from March 16 to 19) the breakfast buffets of 3 of the 5 hotels of the Valencian group (Casual Vintage Valencia, Casual Casual Cine Valencia and Casual Socarrat Valencia) will include a section of typical Valencian products such as the famous horchata, the exquisite fartons, oranges from the orchard, hot chocolate and the delicious buñuelos, which are so common at these popular festivals.

Likewise, the staff at these establishments will include the headscarf that unites all Valencians on these days in their uniforms; and on March 18 and 19, they will give one to hotel guests so they can blend in with the local population and experience a truly authentic Fallas festival.

Finally, they will advise visitors on everything they can do to immerse themselves in a spectacle that has already achieved international fame. It includes countless rituals, such as strolling through the city to observe the Fallas monuments in the city's squares and streets; attending the "mascletás" (mascletàs), trips to the beach, or tasting wonderful culinary specialties such as the best paellas in the world; the traditional mid-morning "esmorzaret" (esmorzaret) accompanied by a "creamet" (coffee with liqueur); or afternoon snacks with pumpkin fritters and hot chocolate, among many others.

If you want to experience the most authentic Fallas festival and enjoy it on foot, don't hesitate to stay at one of the Casual Hoteles establishments in Valencia. We look forward to seeing you!

Casual Hoteles continues its expansion in Italy

Casual Hoteles continues its expansion in Italy

As of February 8, 2024, the Italian market is one of the main drivers of the increase in Casual Hoteles ' international bookings. Following the opening of Casual Rinascimento Firenze in 2023, which marked the Valencian chain's entry into Italy, its international bookings increased from 58.7% to 64.1%; and the percentage of Italians staying at its properties rose to 9.8%.

This opening also had a significant impact on the increase in North American clientele (Florencia's main source market), whose reservations increased by 49%. The percentage of US guests staying at Casual hotels during 2023 increased from 3.8% to 4.5% of the total.

It's no surprise, then, that Casual Hoteles has chosen Italy to continue its international expansion in 2024. This time, the chosen city is Naples, one of the main tourist destinations in southern Italy. There, the 34-room Casual Miraviglie Napoli hotel, located in the heart of the city, will open its doors for rent. Barring unforeseen circumstances, it is expected to open during the third quarter of this year.

According to Juan Carlos Sanjuán, founder of Casual Hoteles, “ We are very excited about this project, which will allow us to continue our expansion in Italy. Although we had high expectations when we opened our first hotel in the country a year ago, the results have been much better than expected. That's why we believe this first hotel in Naples will allow us to consolidate all our achievements and reinforce our image there as a thematic, designer, disruptive, fun, and surprising hotel chain .”

This year, experiencing a Cadiz Carnival with Duende has a prize.

This year, experiencing a Cadiz Carnival with Duende has a prize.

February 7, 2024. When Carnival arrives, Cádiz becomes the epicenter of attention, and social media fills with images filled with joy, costumes, comparsas, choirs, chirigotas, quartets, and tanguillos from Cádiz. Part of this artistic expression, so deeply rooted in Cádiz culture, has its origins in the Duende flamenco, and in the singers' ability to fill the stage with their mere presence.

A Duende that some also relate to the tangos that came from Cuba, and that in Cádiz were transformed into tanguillos full of Cádiz grace, and with a more mischievous and satirical tone, still very present in Carnival.

That's why the hotel with the most Duende de Casual (Casual Duende) wanted to join the Cádiz Carnival experience, offering its guests an authentic carnival experience in the historic city center, where the hotel is located.

There, guests staying at the hotel from February 8th to 18th will find a carnival costume to personalize their look with a touch of Duende, and will be able to tour the city's most iconic locations with it, experiencing firsthand this festival, declared a Site of Cultural Interest by Andalusian Historical Heritage.

In addition, they will have the opportunity to participate in a fun raffle by posting a photo on their social media accounts of themselves in costume at a popular location in Cádiz. The image must be accompanied by the hashtag #CarnavalConDuende and the @casualhoteles account must be tagged.

At the end of Carnival, the well-known hotel, which enjoys a privileged location in the historic center of Cádiz, will publish the name of the winner on its Instagram profile, who will receive as a prize the opportunity to stay (1 night for 2 people on a bed and breakfast basis) again at Casual con Duende Cádiz throughout 2024 so that they can experience the wonderful possibilities that the Tacita de Plata offers throughout the year.

Casual Hoteles closes a historic 2023

Casual Hoteles closes a historic 2023

As of January 18, 2024. If the summer season figures predicted a very good 2023, the year-end figures have confirmed it.
Casual Hoteles closed 2023 with revenues of €31,575,073, compared to €22,602,177 in 2022; and with EBITDA of €6.5 million, compared to €4.3 million in the same period last year.

According to Juan Carlos Sanjuán , president and founder of Casual Hoteles, “these are excellent results, exceeding our initial forecasts for the year. Among them, I would highlight the success of our entry into Italy, as the opening of Casual Rinascimento Firenze has given us international visibility, allowing us to attract a foreign clientele willing to pay higher rates. After some very challenging years, 2023 has been a year of exceeding all expectations. A trend that, barring unforeseen events, still has room for growth in 2024.”

Entry into Italy, fundamental to the growth of the international market :

One of the factors that explains Casual Hoteles' improved results in 2023 is the 35.51% increase in booking volume in the international market, which has gone from representing 58.7% of total bookings to 64.1%.

The opening of Casual Rinascimento Firenze has played a significant role in this increase, bringing Italians closer to the Casual Hoteles brand and generating a general increase in this market across other hotels in the chain. As a result, 9.8% of the Valencian group's reservations currently come from Italian guests. The average price they pay per stay is €309.62, a figure higher than the average for other markets.

Another advantage derived from Casual Hoteles' entry into Italy has been the 49% increase in reservations from North American clients, which have gone from representing 3.8% of the total to 4.5%. This is because the main outbound customer for Florence is the United States.

The third most important international market for Casual Hoteles is the United Kingdom, which in 2023 increased from 4.3% to 5.7% of total bookings. Its preferred destinations are Benidorm, Valencia, and Malaga.

Excellent price management and recovery of tourism activity :

The growth in the international market has resulted in higher rates. Thus, in 2023, Casual Hoteles' RevPar stood at €90.94 per night, compared to €77.73 per night in 2022. The implementation of new revenue management technologies has undoubtedly been a great ally in this important task of price management.

The recovery in tourism activity has also been significant, which in the case of Casual Hoteles has led to an increase in average hotel occupancy. Thus, while in 2022 this figure was 87.27%, in 2023 it was 89.58%.

In this new landscape, two interesting aspects stand out. First, in 2023, more than half of Casual Hoteles' guests were couples. Specifically, 59.75% of the total. And second, in the last quarter of the year, a new market niche emerged strongly: lonely travelers, who travel alone, representing 22.7% of the total.

Incorporation of two new hotels :

Once things have returned to normal, Casual Hoteles has resumed its expansion goals in 2023. This challenge seeks to achieve solid, sustained, and sustainable growth, with the addition of new hotels in strategic destinations that add value to the company. This has been the case with both the Casual Rinascimento Firenze, with which Casual Hoteles launched its presence in the heart of Italy, and the Casual Ilbira Granada, a beautiful boutique hotel that has allowed the Valencian group to consolidate its offering in four Andalusian provinces.

A record year :

For Casual Hoteles, 2023 has been a historic year that, barring unforeseen events, could be repeated, or even improved, in 2024.

Magnitudes (in euros) 2022 2023
Income 31,575,073 22,602,177
EBITDA 4.3 6.5
REVPAR 77.73 90.94
Average occupancy 87.27% 89.58%

Casual Hoteles begins 2024 by investing in 100% green energy.

Casual Hoteles begins 2024 by investing in 100% green energy.

January 10, 2024. Casual Hoteles begins the year by showcasing what will be one of its priority objectives for 2024: strengthening its Sustainability strategy, which goes beyond wanting to be socially responsible, and aims to lead a sincere and committed change towards a better world, and improve the ecosystem in which all its establishments operate.

To this end, in addition to carrying out numerous actions that earned it the First HOSBEC Sustainable Tourism Award at the end of 2023, in the "Best Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy" category, the Valencian chain has just announced that 11 of its 24 establishments have switched to using 100% green energy.

With this measure, which has been implemented to date in its hotels in Madrid, Barcelona, Cádiz, Málaga, Seville, San Sebastián and Valencia, Casual Hoteles will be able to avoid the emission of 1,134,000 kilos of CO2 into the atmosphere per year, which is equivalent to planting 24,450 trees, or stopping the use of 280 tons of oil equivalent (toe).

The Valencian group's goal is to extend this measure to the rest of its establishments, as the expiration of some of their permanent contracts allows.

According to Juan Carlos Sanjuán, president and founder of Casual Hoteles, “ we will only be able to improve the world and guarantee the future of future generations if each of us assumes our responsibility and contributes to reducing the impact our actions have on the environment. This is one of the many initiatives we plan to implement at Casual Hoteles to ensure our business offers a completely responsible and sustainable tourism experience .”

What is 100% green energy?

To operate with 100% green energy, Casual Hoteles has signed an agreement with the energy supplier Conecta2 Energía, which provides clean, sustainable, and non-polluting electricity produced exclusively from renewable sources such as solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal, marine, biomass, and biogas.

Casual Hoteles wins first prize for tourism sustainability from HOSBEC

December 18, 2023. Casual Hoteles , the Valencian hotel chain with the largest presence nationwide, ends 2023, which will be remembered as a historic year in its life.

The icing on the cake for a year packed with excellent results and new additions was the group's awarding of the First HOSBEC Sustainable Tourism Prize in the "Best Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy" category.

This is the first edition of these awards, which were created by the leading tourism association in the Valencian Community to involve the sector in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals promoted by the United Nations.

According to Juan Carlos Sanjuán, president of Casual Hoteles, "there can be no better way to celebrate the company's 10th anniversary than by being recognized as one of the best companies in the Valencian Community in terms of corporate social responsibility."

The priority objective, he explains, "that I set for myself when I founded Casual Hoteles ten years ago was to always seek a balance between business and social development. To achieve this, since our inception we have implemented social responsibility in everything we do, incorporating this sensitivity into all of the chain's operations, both in the Valencian Community, where we have six hotels (five in Valencia and one in Benidorm), and in the other eleven cities in Spain, Portugal, and Italy where we operate."

A CSR strategy based on 4 pillars:

Casual Hoteles has a Corporate Social Responsibility strategy based on four pillars: equal opportunities; employee well-being and development; commitment to the community; and innovation and an inclusive offering.

In collaboration with ECO-ONE, a company specializing in the implementation of sustainability in the hotel industry, Casual Hoteles has implemented important initiatives in these four areas.

Among the most notable features, and those most highly valued by the HOSBEC jury members, were its equality plan and code of ethics, which includes a protocol for preventing and addressing harassment; its flexible payroll policy and its commitment to flexible hours and remote working in all positions where it is permitted; the creation of a work disconnection protocol (particularly at a digital level); the implementation of a team satisfaction traffic light system and a suggestion box; the signing of collaboration agreements with institutions such as the University of Cádiz; the existence of training and development plans; and the free provision of private health insurance for employees, as well as wellness sessions that help them disconnect and take care of their mental health, among others.

All of this has led to 72.8% of the Casual Hoteles workforce being motivated and considering the work environment to be optimal, according to the group's recent employee survey.

In addition, other factors related to community commitment have also been considered, materialized in numerous agreements signed with NGOs such as the Red Cross, UNICEF, and Save the Children, among others, and with sports teams with deep social and community roots, such as Picken Claret; in the theming of many hotels with the aim of promoting the artistic heritage of their respective destinations; and in the creation of promotions and packages that seek to foster more inclusive tourism for certain niches or segments, such as senior tourism, pet-friendly tourism, tourism for families with babies, and, in general, tourism for people with disabilities, especially hearing disabilities.

Global project to change the world Casual:

Winning this award recognizes a strategy that goes beyond a desire to be socially responsible. It is part of a global project through which Casual Hoteles aims to lead a sincere and committed change toward a better world and improve the ecosystem in which all its properties operate.

To this end, in addition to implementing important social measures in the area of employment, the chain is implementing multiple initiatives related to reducing the direct and indirect impact of tourism on the environment, which involve both the group's hotels and the suppliers with whom they collaborate; all while ensuring maximum economic development for the destinations where they operate.

Looking ahead to 2024, Casual Hoteles plans to intensify its work as a catalyst for a type of responsible tourism, which aims to maintain economic growth while being more environmentally and socially respectful of our surroundings.

Casual Ilbira Granada opens its doors today

Casual Ilbira Granada opens its doors today

December 4, 2023. At the gates of one of the most important long weekends of the year, and with Granada in full swing awaiting the thousands of tourists who plan to visit it these days, the Valencian chain Casual Hoteles has opened its new hotel Casual Ilbira Granada today.

This is the first hotel Casual Hoteles has opened in Granada, joining the Andalusian provinces of Cadiz, Seville, and Malaga, where the group already operates. Furthermore, the opening of this centrally located 41-room establishment, located a 5-minute walk from Granada's Plaza Nueva and less than 10 minutes from the Cathedral, brings the number of cities in Spain, Italy, and Portugal where the themed hotel chain operates to 13.

According to Juan Carlos Sanjuán, president of Casual Hoteles, “ we are very pleased to have gained entry to Granada, a city experiencing a true tourism renaissance with the opening of new hotels like ours. Not only is there interest from the domestic market, but more and more European and even American tourists are visiting for its many attractions .”

A history and countless legends, he concludes, “ that we wanted to reflect in the theming of all Casual Ilbira Granada, through a disruptive aesthetic that is characteristic of our chain. We hope that this elegant yet fun reinterpretation of some of the city's most iconic spaces and characters will be enjoyed by all Granada residents. Because the goal of these designs is to promote the destination from inside the hotel, even before people go out to explore the city .”

Granada seen from a different aesthetic :

The 41 rooms at Casual Ilbira Granada evoke some of Granada's most famous spots, such as the "Street of Tea Rooms," the "Generalife Garden," the "Paseo de los Tristes," the "Cuevas de Sacromonte," and even the "Sierra Nevada," among many others. The designs, created by interior designer Raquel Sanjuán, sought to revisit these iconic locations with a futuristic aesthetic, combining elements of Pop Art with nods to the fun and colorful Kitsch style. Furthermore, 22% of the rooms are triple and quadruple, ideal for families and group trips.

The new Casual Hoteles hotel in Granada, which like all the hotels in the Valencian group, allows up to two pets weighing 25 kilos each, has a breakfast buffet restaurant and two other services for both internal and external guests: a cozy coworking space and a beautiful rooftop terrace. If you want to discover the secrets of Granada from a different perspective, don't hesitate to stay at Casual Ilbira Granada, a hotel that leaves its mark.

Casual Hotels enters Granada

Casual Hotels enters Granada

October 11, 2023. This year, 2023, in which Casual Hoteles celebrates its 10th anniversary, everything seems to be going well for the Valencian chain founded by Juan Carlos Sanjuán. After announcing extraordinary results, which anticipate a historic year, the hotel group has just announced the signing of a lease agreement to incorporate what will be its 25th hotel, and its fifth in Andalusia.

According to Juan Carlos Sanjuán, President of Casual Hoteles, “The opening of Casual Ilbira Granada, which will coincide with the upcoming Constitution Long Weekend, brings us even closer to our goal of reaching the heart of the main urban tourist destinations in our country. With this 41-room establishment, located a 5-minute walk from Granada's Plaza Nueva and less than 10 minutes from the Cathedral, we consolidate our presence in Andalusia, where we already have hotels in four provinces: Malaga, Seville, Cadiz, and, from now on, Granada.”

On the other hand, he concludes, “we are very happy because the historical legacy of Granada, known in the Middle Ages by the Phoenician name of Ilbira, will allow us to do what we like most at Casual Hotels: theming our rooms so that guests who stay there begin to get to know the destination from the moment they enter the hotel and, above all, during their respective stays.”

Granada seen from a different aesthetic:

Another defining characteristic of Casual Hoteles is the design of its hotels, which seek to attract attention with a distinctive aesthetic. The goal is always to highlight some of the destination's attractions, which in Granada's case include iconic sites such as the "Street of Tea Rooms," the "Generalife Garden," the "Paseo de los Tristes," the "Cuevas de Sacromonte," and even the Sierra Nevada, among many others.

All these examples give a glimpse into the décor of some of the 41 rooms at Casual Ilbira Granada, whose design will revisit these iconic locations with a futuristic aesthetic, combining elements of Pop Art with nods to the fun and colorful Kitsch style.

Casual Hoteles closes the summer season with historic figures and anticipates an extraordinary annual closing.

Casual Hoteles closes the summer season with historic figures and anticipates an extraordinary annual closing.

As of October 5, 2023, everyone was expecting very good summer figures, but the results have exceeded the already high expectations. At least, for the Valencian hotel company Casual Hoteles , which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

According to Juan Carlos Sanjuán, president and founder of Casual Hoteles, “ if there are no unforeseen events, 2023 is going to be a historic year for Casual Hoteles, and we estimate closing the year with an EBITDA of 6.5 million euros. After overcoming the pandemic, the company is healthier than ever, and the new additions are helping to consolidate results that are absolutely exceptional for a chain of 24 hotels and 890 rooms. Especially considering that we specialize in city tourism hotels, although some are located in beach areas .”

An excellent summer :

Casual Hoteles' revenue from July to September was €9,080,198, compared to €7,387,733 in the same period last year; a 22.91% increase compared to 2022.

This marked improvement has been influenced by a highly professional management system, which, thanks to technology, allows for very thorough expense control; the success of the sales policy, which stands out for its highly dynamic revenue management ; the consolidation of the Italian market, which increased its market share by 33% in the three summer months; the capture of new source markets such as the North American market, which has grown by 47% during that period; and the widespread acceptance of the Be Casual loyalty program, which in less than a year of operation has achieved a repurchase rate of 16.72%, a significant amount for city establishments.

However, what has contributed most to the excellent results has been the increase in demand and REVPAR, with significant increases in July, August, and September compared to 2022:

REVPAR

2022

2023

July

95.86

105.44

August

100.85

108.08

September

98.42

119.45

A historic year :

These excellent results add to the positive figures accumulated since the beginning of the year. Thus, Casual Hoteles' revenue from January to September was €23,116,661, compared to €16,613,462 in the same period in 2022, representing a 39.14% increase over the previous year.

Regarding EBITDA, the figures remain extraordinary, reaching €5,361,165 from January to September, a figure 34.61% higher than the €3,982,667 figure for 2022 during the same period.

An unprecedented September :

All these figures demonstrate a complete recovery in city tourism, which stands out compared to sun-and-beach vacations due to its less seasonal nature, as it increasingly extends throughout the year.

Furthermore, it's worth noting that a trend that had been suspected for some time now has emerged in 2023, but which has been confirmed this year. We're referring to September's positioning as the preferred month for many people to enjoy their vacations.

In the case of Casual Hoteles, this feature has become evident at the income level, being the month of the summer season that has grown the most in this concept, going from 2,496,740 euros invoiced in 2022 to 3,172,530 * euros in 2023, 27.07% more than the previous year.

For the Valencian company, high demand this month has resulted in a significant increase in rates, bringing the REVPAR for September to €119.45, the highest of the three summer months, and higher than the €98.42 rate for the same month last year.

Closing forecasts for 2023 :

If the fourth quarter of 2023 performs as expected and forecasts are met, Casual Hoteles could close a historic 2023 with an EBITDA of €6.5 million, compared to the €4,248,536.67 million achieved last year.

Casual Hoteles boosts its CSR with the creation of a Sustainability Department

Casual Hoteles boosts its CSR with the creation of a Sustainability Department

As of June 19, 2023, the Casual Hoteles chain has always been mindful of the importance of sustainability, accrediting all its establishments with environmental certifications such as Ecostars, and incorporating ecological measures that respect our environment, such as ozonizing the hotel's water, among others.

Taking advantage of the company's 10th anniversary , the group founded by Juan Carlos Sanjuán has decided to boost its Corporate Social Responsibility policies by creating a Sustainability Department .

The decisions of this newly created area will affect all departments in the chain, as the areas where the company seeks to become more sustainable are economic, social, and environmental.

According to Juan Carlos Sanjuán , “ the true shift we all want toward sustainability comes when all areas of the company are imbued with this efficient and environmental vision. And that's what we aim to achieve by creating this new Casual Hoteles Sustainability Department. All decisions regarding the economy, governance, talent management, communications, and, of course, the group's strategy and expansion are made with a sustainable focus in mind, and even the mission and vision of Casual Hoteles are reviewed to align with it .”

Furthermore, he explains, “ the most ambitious thing is that we want to bring this social awareness to our entire ecosystem, including our employees, our clients, and the companies we collaborate with. We seek to lead our entire environment to be and think about sustainability. The younger generations are very clear about this and demand it. They want us to show them that we are committed to society, to our planet, and that is what we will continue to do .”

On the environmental front, he concludes, " We want to review all our energy, water, and waste management policies, with the goal of progressively and maximally reducing our carbon footprint. This challenge also aims to raise awareness among everyone who, directly or indirectly, is part of the Casual Hoteles project and family ."

Casual Hoteles closes 2022 with revenues of 23.6 million euros and an EBITDA of 5 million euros

Casual Hoteles closes 2022 with revenues of 23.6 million euros and an EBITDA of 5 million euros

May 17, 2023. As expected, the Valencian chain of themed hotels Casual Hoteles , with a presence in 12 cities in Spain (Valencia, Benidorm, Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Cádiz, Málaga, San Sebastián and Bilbao), Portugal (Lisbon and Oporto) and Italy (Florence), has closed an excellent year 2022, which leaves behind the great difficulties experienced during 2020 and 2021.

Thus, the revenue generated by its hotels in 2022 amounted to €23.6 million, while the EBITDA obtained from this activity was €5 million. Although Casual Hoteles had five more hotels in 2022 than in 2019 (Casual with Duende Cádiz, added in 2020, and Casual Colors Barcelona, Casual Pop Art Benidorm, Casual Raizes Porto, and Casual Rinascimento Firenze in 2022), the increase compared to that year can be considered spectacular, with revenue growing by 55.26% and EBITDA by 284.61%.

Similar occupancy, but higher rates :

Regarding hotel occupancy, the average occupancy rate in 2022 was 87.11%, very similar to the 87.05% achieved in 2019. However, last year's RevPar was 20.25% higher than in 2019, with the average room rate rising from €64.59 in 2019 to €77.55 in 2022.

Major impact of the domestic market on tourism recovery :

The tourism recovery recorded in 2022 was possible thanks, above all, to the boost from the domestic market, which, in the case of Casual Hoteles, generated 39% of reservations. The other two markets that contributed the most were Italy and France, with 8.2% and 6.9%, respectively; followed by Britain, the Netherlands, and Germany, with approximately 3.5% each. Finally, it is worth highlighting the North American market, which, although remaining at 3%, saw the largest increase in customers for the chain in 2022, with a 296.2% increase compared to 2019.

Interestingly, the Casual Pop Art Benidorm was the hotel of choice for Spaniards, the Casual Cine Valencia for Italians, the Casual Don Juan Tenorio Sevilla for French visitors, the Casual del Teatro Madrid for Americans, and the Casual Raizes Porto for Portuguese visitors.

Consolidation as one of the main Pet Friendly chains in our country :

The 2022 financial results also show how the financial figures support Casual Hoteles' status as one of the leading pet-friendly chains in Spain. Thus, in 2022, the group's hotels received a total of 3,336 reservations from guests with pets, generating 3.72% of the company's total revenue.

Regarding the pet-friendly guest profile, 53.3% were Spanish, and almost the other half were foreigners, with the most frequent being French, representing 7.9%. Their average stay was 2.35 days, and they spent an average of €228.3 per stay. The peak travel time with their pets was in August and Christmas (including both December and January). Most of them were single, and their preferred pet-friendly establishments were Casual Las Olas San Sebastián, which received a total of 1,724 pet reservations in 2022 (representing 7.66% of its revenue); and Casual de las Artes Valencia, which welcomed 1,410 pets during the same period (representing 5.76% of its revenue).

Forecasts indicate that 2023 could be even better than 2022 :

At the close of the first four months of 2023, everything seems to indicate that this year will be even better than 2022. At least in the case of Casual Hoteles, which generated revenue of €7.46 million from January to April of this year. Compared to last year's figure, and not including the four new hotels that were not yet open at that time, the 2023 revenue figure would be €6.12 million, representing a 30.1% increase compared to the same period in 2022.

This is the most traditional hotel in Madrid

This is the most traditional hotel in Madrid

April 28, 2023. Madrid has become a truly cosmopolitan destination, yet it has managed to maintain the spirit that makes it a unique city. This tradition encompasses one of the capital's most traditional celebrations: the San Isidro festival, which every year invites locals and foreigners to dress up as chulapos (a kind of "chulapo") and enjoy the beginning of spring in the famous meadow immortalized by Goya.

An event that takes place every May 15th, and is accompanied by many other events such as participation in the pilgrimage to the Hermitage of San Isidro, attendance at the San Isidro Bullfighting Fair or the many concerts that are organized in different areas of Madrid.

Casual del Teatro Madrid , one of the most traditional hotels in Madrid due to its location in the historic center, for being built in a period building, and for its theme linked to the world of theaters and musicals that are concentrated in this beautiful area of Madrid, has wanted to make its clients part of that cool spirit, which has the red carnation, the silly and ready doughnuts, and the wafers, as its main symbols.

To this end, in addition to giving those staying at the hotel from May 12th to 15th these typical Madrid sweets, Casual del Teatro Madrid will give them a red carnation so that on May 15th they can go to the Pradera de San Isidro dressed as chulapos, with the flower pinned to their lapels for men and in their hair for women, as tradition dictates.

Quadruple rooms and pet-friendly hotel :

If you're thinking of visiting Madrid around this time, or any other time, and want to do so with your family or your pet, you should know that Casual del Teatro Madrid is an ideal accommodation for those segments. It's one of the Casual Hoteles properties with the most quadruple rooms, and it's a pet-friendly hotel, like all the hotels in the group. So pack your bags now, and we'll be waiting for you at the most traditional hotel in Madrid.

Casual de las Letras Sevilla anticipates Book Day by creating an event that seeks to promote new writers

Casual de las Letras Sevilla anticipates Book Day by creating an event that seeks to promote new writers

April 21, 2023. Casual Hoteles , one of the best-known chains in our country for the theming of its establishments, wanted to give a nod to Book Day, which will take place on April 23, by organizing a very special event at its most literary hotel: Casual de las Letras Sevilla .

This presentation was created with the intention of being held annually on the same date, and aims to promote new writers who are directly or indirectly associated with Seville.

In this case, the chosen author has been María González Romero (1978) who, with the help of Plataforma Editorial, has just launched her first book: “Debajo de las palabras” (Under the Words), a work whose reading is transcendental to bring a bit of sanity, relaxation, Andalusian grace and coherence to an increasingly tense society.

The event, which will take place this afternoon at 6:30 p.m. at the Casual de las Letras Hotel in Seville (C/ Alhondiga, 24, Seville), will include a presentation by the hotel's director, Jesús Fernández, a speech by the author, a book signing, and refreshments.

María González Romero, a character linked to Seville since childhood :

Although she was born in Madrid, Sevillian and Andalusian blood runs through her veins. That's why María González Romero chose Seville, just a few days before the Sevillian capital's big festival, to officially present her first book.

A work written with much love and a great sense of humor, it aims to provide practical tools to all those who, like her, are tired of verbal violence. It's an invitation to nonviolent communication based on practical cases, which are a true boost of optimism, and whose fresh, direct, and simple language is suitable for all audiences. Because if there's one thing that unites us all as humans, or should, it's communication.

María González Romero holds a law degree from the Autonomous University of Madrid and is an expert in Foundation Management. After completing her studies, she practiced law and later became the coordinator of Felipe González's office for nine years. She also led the creation and launch of the Felipe González Foundation. Currently, after training at the Institute of Nonviolent Communication in Madrid and obtaining a degree in civil, family, and commercial mediation, she works in skills training for companies and in mediation processes.

Synopsis of the book “Under the Words” :

If your way of communicating sometimes alienates you from people, creates tension, or you find it hard to express yourself clearly yet thoughtfully, then perhaps this book is for you. The author tells us, simply, in a relatable, entertaining, and deeply sincere way, how she discovered Nonviolent Communication and how her life improved when she decided to start integrating this communication model into her daily life.

Hotels that blend in with their destination

Hotels that blend in with their destination

As of March 30, 2023, “ Tell me which hotel you are staying at and I will tell you which destination you are in ” could be the motto of many of the hotels in the Casual Hoteles thematic chain, which base their theming on promoting the destination in which they are located.

One of the hotels that has best implemented this objective has been Casual de las Olas San Sebastián , a 61-room hotel located in the Amara neighborhood, whose interior design is exclusively dedicated to the nautical and surfing world, which is so closely associated with Donosti.

It is a 20-minute walk from La Concha beach, but the decor of its rooms immediately transports us to the San Sebastián coastline and surfing beaches such as Zurriola, where waves can reach up to 6 meters high.

There is also room for other nautical activities typical of the area also known as Bella Easo, such as paddle surfing, jet skiing, and canoeing, among others.

Pet-friendly hotel :

Another aspect that makes Casual de las Olas San Sebastián a unique hotel is the large number of guests who choose it to enjoy their holidays with their pets. Of the 23 Casual Hoteles establishments in 12 cities in Spain, Italy, and Portugal, it is the one that welcomed the most pets in 2022, with a total of 1,651 reservations throughout the year. In this regard, it's worth noting that Casual Hoteles is the only Spanish chain whose website allows guests to specify the number of pets that will be accompanying them when making a reservation. Furthermore, if the reservation is made through www.casualhoteles.com , the pets' stay is free.

And with family rooms

Finally, Casual de las Olas San Sebastián is a hotel that families and friends love, as it has many triple (9) and quadruple (6) rooms, ideal, due to their spaciousness, for enjoying group trips.

This is the sweet that will be a hit during Easter in the Casual hotels of Andalusia

March 21, 2023. One of the most appreciated pleasures by guests upon arriving at their hotels is to see their welcome acknowledged with a gastronomic detail. That's why the themed chain Casual Hoteles has chosen this gift to honor all those who decide to spend their Easter holidays at one of the 4 hotels it has in Malaga ( Casual del Mar Malaga ), Seville ( Casual Don Juan Tenorio Sevilla and Casual de las Letras Sevilla ), and Cadiz ( Casual con Duende Cadiz ).

Specifically, guests who book a stay at these hotels through www.casualhoteles.com from April 3 to 9 will receive delicious oil cakes in their rooms upon arrival, one of the most typical sweets from these three Andalusian provinces.

Of ancient tradition and artisanal preparation, the olive oil cake stands out for its crispy, flaky texture. Although it is said to originate in Seville, it is now consumed in almost every Andalusian province during Holy Week.

The goal of this initiative is to further connect guests with the destinations they're visiting. Casual hotels already do this through their themed designs, and they want to reinforce it this Easter with a showcase of the best Andalusian pastries. Are you up for it? We look forward to seeing you.

Casual Hoteles implements the latest fintech trend to provide greater social benefits to its employees

Casual Hoteles implements the latest fintech trend to provide greater social benefits to its employees

March 3, 2023. Juan Carlos Sanjuán, president and founder of Casual Hoteles , immediately connected with the founders of the Spanish company Payflow, which is revolutionizing human resources in many companies. Sanjuán shares his passion for technology with Benoît Menardo and Avinash Sukhwani, and how it can improve absolutely every area of our lives.

That's why Casual Hoteles is one of the first Spanish hotel chains to incorporate this mobile app to offer its employees greater benefits free of charge. To this end, Casual Hoteles has signed an agreement with Payflow , which provides its employees with on-demand access to the portion of their paychecks due by day of the month. Requesting a payment, which can be made at any time of day or night, including holidays, is very easy and simple through the app, and payment is processed immediately.

According to Juan Carlos Sanjuán , “ The main objective of this initiative is to facilitate the financial stability of our employees, who don't have to pay anything to use this system. We believe that, in some cases, it can help avoid defaults and prevent overdrafts, saving the additional fees that financial institutions typically charge if they occur .”

According to Avinash Sukhwani, co-founder of Payflow , “This system for immediate access to payroll is one of the most modern forms of social benefits that companies can offer their employees. Since there is no fee to use it, it's all benefits for employees, who can thereby improve their financial health. Payflow incorporates the immediacy that already exists in the fields of catering, streaming, and banking transactions, making it possible to recover the old custom of receiving (the daily wage) in real time.”

In the case of Casual Hoteles, this measure joins other benefits the Valencian chain offers its employees, such as flexible working hours, opting for remote work whenever possible; investing in technology that safeguards employee health, such as the ozonized water cleaning system, which is being implemented in all of the chain's establishments; and promoting ongoing training, including participation in specialized courses, among others.

About Payflow :

Payflow was created to bring financial freedom and well-being to all workers, creating a revolutionary, positive social benefit for employees and their companies. Through an intuitive app, users can collect their pay whenever they want, save in an automated virtual piggy bank, gain financial education, and enjoy the benefits of Flexible Compensation, gaining the ability to cope with unexpected events, reducing their financial stress, and avoiding cycles of debt. They are positioned as leaders in Spain, with over 500 clients, and are in the process of international expansion in Latin America and the rest of Europe.

This year, experience Las Fallas like a local

This year, experience Las Fallas like a local

February 27, 2023. This year the Fallas will be back to what they were and, on top of that, the Nit de la Cremà (March 19) falls on a Sunday , so you can't miss it. If you want to experience them like a true local , and enjoy some of the peculiarities of this tradition , declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, stay in any of these 4 centrally located establishments ( Casual Vintage Valencia, Casual del Cine Valencia, the adults-only Casual Socarrat Valencia and Casual de las Artes Valencia ), that the Valencian chain Casual Hoteles has in the city of Turia.

Fallero handkerchief, chocolate with churros and horchata :

In them, in addition to enjoying the privileged location of all the hotels, especially Casual Vintage Valencia , whose balconies located in front of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento are practically full to see the mascletà live every day at 2:00 p.m. (balconies are still available to rent for 350 euros + VAT per day. More information: vintage@casualhoteles.com), you can immerse yourself in the Fallas customs like a true Valencian .

Although it's hard to get up early, especially if you went to bed very late, if you want to emulate the locals, you absolutely have to go to a despertá. It's held every day at 8:00 a.m. , with a series of firecrackers that definitely achieve their goal. To better cope with such an early morning, Casual Hotels in Valencia will include a more than tempting hot chocolate with churros in the buffet breakfast on March 17, 18, and 19. And, as tradition dictates, no Fallero fan can go without one during these ancient festivities.

Another of the most deeply rooted customs of Valencians during Las Fallas is to enjoy a delicious tiger nut horchata . This will be the welcome drink that all guests at Casual hotels will receive upon arrival at their respective establishments on March 17 and 18 .

To reinforce the theme that characterizes Casual Hotels, from March 13 to 19, all receptions and breakfast buffets will include decorations typical of these holidays, with firecrackers, handkerchiefs, and other very local decorations.

Finally, it's worth highlighting the element that possibly distinguishes the Falleros and Falleras the most: the traditional Fallero scarf , also known as the herb scarf . Its origin lies in the use that Valencian farmers and peasants gave it when they went to work in the orchards, as it was very useful for covering their heads and protecting themselves from the sun, for wiping away sweat, and for avoiding the smoke when they burned the straw from the rice crops.

The traditional one is blue and white checkered , and if you stay at Casual Hotels on March 18th and 19th , you'll receive one as a gift . It'll be perfect for exploring the streets of Valencia and looking like a true local. We look forward to seeing you!

Casual Hotels opts for ecological cleaning

Casual Hotels opts for ecological cleaning

February 20, 2023. Following the recent acquisition of the Ecostars hotel sustainability certificate by all its establishments, the Casual Hoteles thematic chain has continued its commitment to sustainability with the implementation of a pilot water ozonation project at the Casual del Teatro Madrid hotel.

Following the success of this test, the Valencian chain plans to install it in all its hotels within a maximum period of two months , something that has been highly valued by the Hotel and Tourism Business Association of the Valencian Community ( HOSBEC ), a region in which Casual Hoteles has 7 of its 23 establishments .

Thus, according to Nuria Montes , Secretary General of Hosbec, “ HOSBEC, through its Health Services, is very interested in the practical application of this technology from the company Eco Advance, which fits into the sustainability strategies for reducing waste and packaging for the hotel sector. Therefore, it will actively collaborate with Casual Hoteles and all associated establishments that implement this technology in the study of its practical uses, within the framework of health, food, water safety, and occupational risk prevention regulations.”

For his part, Juan Carlos Sanjuán , president of Casual Hoteles , “this initiative is part of our firm commitment to sustainability and is the result of our obsession with driving innovation within the hotel industry. Our goal is to always stay ahead of technological advances like this one, which allows us to offer a higher-quality, safer product, while avoiding potential occupational hazards for our employees by eliminating chemicals .”

What is water ozonation and what are its advantages in the hospitality industry?

Water ozonation is a system that disinfects 293 times more effectively than bleach. Ozone disinfects the water , which is then used to clean all types of areas and surfaces: from furniture, floors, and glass in rooms to kitchens and bathrooms, among many other areas.

In addition to being environmentally friendly and containing no chemical additives, this system, installed by Eco Advance at Casual Hoteles, offers greater cleaning and disinfection benefits than traditional cleaning products . Not only does it guarantee the elimination of all types of bacteria and viruses on the surfaces where ozonized water is applied, and prevents their eventual appearance for longer, but its use is also harmless to the staff.

Furthermore, when used to clean common areas and rooms , the ozonized water can be scented with natural essential oils , which make the disinfection results even more pleasant.

About Eco Advance:

ECO-ADVANCE is a young and active group of professionals with more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality and water treatment industries. They have their own technical service department for domestic and industrial use. They are at the forefront of innovation and market demands. In 2020, they received the A tu salud Award from La Razón newspaper in the "Leading Company in Ozone Generators " category, and in 2022, they received the Sustainability and Environment Award from the same newspaper for "Leading Company in Ozone Technology."

Love doesn't need excuses to celebrate it.

Love doesn't need excuses to celebrate it.

February 2, 2023. For many, love (as we understand it today) emerged in the 19th century , when literature promoted stories of impossible loves and dramas that had Cupid as the protagonist. One of the best examples of this is the work " Don Juan Tenorio ", written by José Zorrilla (1817-1893) in 1844, which tells the incredible story of two born seducers , Don Luis and Don Juan , who compete for the number of women they can seduce .

In the end, Don Juan ends up falling in love with Doña Inés , the daughter of the wealthy commander Don Gonzalo de Ulloa , but a crime forces Don Juan to flee Seville and, due to his absence, Doña Inés dies of love for him.

These are the words that were written by Zorrilla in a picturesque building in the Plaza de los Venerables in the capital of Seville , located just 5 minutes walk from the Real Alcázar and the Cathedral of Seville , where today one of the most charismatic hotels of the thematic chain Casual Hoteles is located: the Casual Don Juan Tenorio Sevilla .

This is a 21-room hotel, each dedicated to a different character from the Valladolid-born author's famous work. If you're still wondering where to celebrate Valentine's Day , this could be the perfect place to unleash your passion .

4 packs to enjoy love your way (and at any time of year):

Something that, for Casual Hotels , and especially for Casual Don Juan Tenorio Sevilla , can (and should) be done at any time of the year , and encouraging, to do so, creativity and, why not, the roguery of which Don Juan was a standard-bearer .

In this sense, they offer 4 packs * that are as original as they are seductive : “ Casual Senses ,” with which you can charm your partner by finding the bed in your room covered in rose petals; “ Casual Love ,” which will invite you to enjoy an unforgettable encounter thanks to a fun erotic assortment (mask, vibrating ring, stimulating gel, and original heart-shaped condoms); “ Casual Bubbles ,” so you can toast your love with a bottle of cava; and “ Casual Sweet ,” thanks to which you can celebrate a special date with an exquisite cake. Are you up for it?

Casual Rinascimento Firenze & Spa Opens

Casual Rinascimento Firenze & Spa Opens

January 18, 2023. Adapting hotels to their destination is an art that the themed chain Casual Hoteles has mastered to perfection. A skill that has reached its highest level in the recently opened Casual Rinascimento Firenze & Spa (Florence), a 37-room resort complex, built on three beautiful 15th-century palaces ( Palazzo d'Anghiari, Palazzo delle Poste and Palazzo Baldaccio) .

Their respective Renaissance facades , which combine semicircular arches and rectangular windows with rich wrought iron grilles , displaying an absolutely Florentine style , give access to an interior that leaves the visitor speechless .

And from the very first minute, the Renaissance atmosphere captures your attention with scenes, motifs, and characters from a unique era, the one forged under the rule of Lorenzo de Medici, rightly nicknamed " Lorenzo the Magnificent ." A patron who made Florence the cradle of the Renaissance thanks to the extensive work of unique artists, thinkers, and scientists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli , and Michelangelo , among many others.

Keys to a unique interior design project :

That a Florentine hotel reminds us of the glorious Renaissance past of the Tuscan capital is nothing new . But that it does so with such elegance , and using an absolutely disruptive and contemporary vision , is unique .

Those responsible for turning Casual Rinascimento Firenze & Spa into a work of art in itself, whose beauty is immortal , because it is nourished by already eternal classics , is the Rizoma Architetture studio, founded in Bologna in 2009 by the architect Giovanni Franceschelli , and specialized, mainly, in the development of innovative hotel and restaurant projects.

Winners of international awards such as the 2019 MIPIM Cannes Award for " Best Mixed-Use Development ," among others, they have managed to create an atmosphere that transports visitors to four defining aspects of the Italian Renaissance : games and entertainment; art and architecture; science and discovery ; and the relationship between the sacred and the profane.

A theme that has been applied respectively by floor, from the 1st to the 4th, in its 37 rooms.

Spaciousness, comfort, Italian design and intense colours (the brand's trademark) :

Each and every one of the 37 rooms at Casual Rinascimento Firenze & Spa are different and stand out for their spaciousness , ranging in area from 22 to 60 square meters.

A distinctive feature considering its central location at Via dell'Anguillara, 14, which connects Piazza San Firenze with Piazza Santa Croce.

Each room was themed by creating large-format custom designs , which were captured on wallpaper . SSD LAB was responsible for their production.

To complete the allusions to the Renaissance , and create a unique atmosphere and a personal story in each room, Rizoma Architetture has used objects such as pillows, blankets, small furniture, coffee tables and armchairs from the Maison du Monde firm, which it has turned into icons of an era.

To complete the different settings and their cinematic look, lamps, ornaments, and even neon lights were chosen; as well as custom-made furniture upholstered in elegant Alessandro Bini CONTRACT fabrics . All this using a range of bright and absolutely disruptive colors , as Casual Hoteles likes, which have contributed to creating the most audacious proposals .

Bold and daring, but always elegant. With touches of modernity such as those provided, for example, by custom-made carpets by Carpet Edition with a black and white city map printed on them, and a red dot above the location of Casual Rinascimento Firenze & Spa. On the 4th floor , some suites feature modern kitchens , sloping ceilings , and beautiful terraces, which have been fitted with beautiful lounge sets by Maison Du Monde , creating an ideal setting for romantic experiences and fun get-togethers with friends overlooking the magical rooftops of Florence .

An indoor Renaissance garden, a tailor-made reception and a spa steeped in history :

As is typical of Casual hotels, the essence of the themed Casual Rinascimento Firenze & Spa project lies in its 37 rooms . However, the rest of the complex has also been infused with Lorenzo de Medici 's legacy .

A charming Renaissance garden , located in the interior courtyard next to the entrance, welcomes visitors with a traditional Florentine lemon tree . The space is completed with a Talenti sofa and several armchairs, announcing the entrance to a reception area custom-made by AFA ARRENDAMENTI . Vibrant neon lights and industrial elements such as a striking metal mesh provide a contemporary take on one of Michelangelo 's most famous sculptures , as well as on the historic frescoes that dot the hall's ceiling.

Finally, a welcoming spa , comprising a 25-metre indoor pool , a sauna and a spacious relaxation area, built on what were once the foundations of Florence's Roman amphitheater , provides the complex with another unique historical element , capable of generating an unforgettable experience for the visitor around the world of " Lorenzo the Magnificent " and the city he helped to create in golden letters: Florence .

Casual Hoteles signs a sponsorship agreement with the Picken Claret Basketball Club of Valencia.

Casual Hoteles signs a sponsorship agreement with the Picken Claret Basketball Club of Valencia.

December 19, 2022. This Saturday, December 17, was the big day for the Picken Claret Basketball Club. A grand party packed with games, activities, and raffles served as the setting for the official presentation of the 2022/23 season and the announcement of the signing of some of the new sponsorship agreements, such as the one signed with the Valencia-based Casual Hoteles chain.

The partnership, which will run for this and the next two seasons, includes the placement of the Casual Hoteles brand on the warm-up (2022/23 season) and game (2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons) shirts of all the club's teams; the inclusion of its logo on the club's website and other advertising media; the organization of events and presentations at Casual Hotels; and the availability of some stays at the Valencian group's hotels to be raffled off, as was the case at the official presentation this Saturday.

According to Juan Carlos Sanjuán, president of Casual Hoteles, “ as a Valencian and sports lover, I grew up admiring the colors of CB Picken Claret, so it is an honor to be able to contribute to their maintenance by signing this sponsorship agreement. As president and founder of Casual Hoteles, a chain whose DNA is the premise of improving the world and contributing to society with all that it gives us every day, I believe that this agreement fits perfectly with our objective of helping young people grow up under the values of sportsmanship and healthy living .”

According to Juan Fuentes, president of CB Picken Claret, “ our club is much more than a club. It's an organization committed to the future of the children of Valencia through sports, and to achieve this, we seek the collaboration of companies, like Casual Hoteles, with whom we share the same goal .”

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility policy, Casual Hotels also collaborates with other national associations and NGOs such as Save the Children and UNICEF, in addition to contributing, through its hotels, to various food banks and animal shelters.

About CB Picken Claret:

The Claret Basketball Club was founded 35 years ago in 1987, in the heart of the Benimaclet neighborhood on the premises of the Claret School, after which it takes its name. Currently, Picken Claret is one of the leading clubs in the city of Valencia and, consequently, in the Valencian Community. It has a structure of more than 40 teams in all categories of youth basketball. They maintain the spirit of a neighborhood club but set no limits on their continued growth and aspirations, both athletically and socially, as a structure that serves as a link for nearly 500 families around the sport of basketball.

Casual Hoteles launches its first project in Italy into management.

Casual Hoteles launches its first project in Italy into management.

November 25, 2022. In 2023 , Casual Hoteles will celebrate its tenth anniversary . Ten years in which the chain of themed urban hotels created by Juan Carlos Sanjuan has consolidated a unique proposition, which, after operating under ownership , rental , and franchise systems, has now decided to launch into management . And it has done so with an absolutely groundbreaking project, which will open its doors at the end of December : Casual Rinascimento Firenze & Spa .

This is a beautiful 37-room tourist complex, spread over 3 independent buildings belonging to 3 well-known Florentine palaces (Palazzo d'Anghiari, Palazzo delle Poste and Palazzo Baldaccio) from the 15th century , which is located in the centre of the historic centre of Florence , the first Italian city where Casual Hotels has landed .

A destination that, according to the founder of Casual Hoteles, Juan Carlos Sanjuan , “ has allowed us to develop our know-how in theming establishments, taking a journey back in time to reinterpret the classics that during the Renaissance made Florence the city where talent became history, and paying tribute to its art and culture, but with a more contemporary vision. The company Rizoma Architetture was responsible for executing the project, managing to merge the concepts of Renaissance and modernity with mastery and very good taste, thanks to a striking and, at the same time, very attractive design. Because, as Leonardo da Vinci said, 'beauty perishes in life, but is immortal in art'” .

Italy , like Spain and Portugal , explains, “ has a large number of independent hotels with between 40 and 80 rooms, which we believe we can help to be profitable thanks to our unique way of grounding the establishments in their respective destinations, transforming them into another attraction in the history and culture of the place; and, of course, to the management model we have created based on experience and advanced technological equipment, as well as an increasingly powerful sales force, multiple marketing actions, a scrupulous revenue analysis and a deep understanding of our customers, among other factors. We are convinced that this type of management contract, which does not entail financial risks for the chain, will allow us to continue growing sustainably and safely.”

This is Casual Rinascimento Firenze & Spa:

Wow .” That’s the expression that guests staying at Casual Rinascimento Firenze & Spa will surely utter when it opens its doors at the end of December. It is already considered one of the most iconic projects that the Juan Carlos Sanjuan chain has themed to date. The capital of Tuscany , which in the 15th century , under the rule of Lorenzo de Medici , served as the cradle of the famous Italian Renaissance ; and which in 1982 was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO , gives great scope to the imagination and creativity that Casual Hoteles establishments always demonstrate.

In this case, the 37 rooms of the resort, which stand out for their great size , between 22 and 60 square meters each, and for being all of them different , have been decorated incorporating 4 typical aspects of the Italian Renaissance , which have been designated to each of the 4 floors of the building : games and entertainment activities (1st), art and architecture (2nd), science and discoveries (3rd) and the relationship between the sacred and the profane (4th). In them, historical designs are combined with avant-garde elements such as neon lights , and unmistakable colors , which are the house trademark.

As with other properties in the chain, some of the rooms at Casual Rinascimento Firenze & Spa can accommodate 3 or 4 people , making them ideal for families and groups of friends . This is also helped by the fact that some rooms have their own kitchens .

For lovers of Florentine architecture, the complex, whose main entrance enjoys a privileged location on Via dell'Anguillara, 14, which connects the central Piazza San Firenze and Piazza Santa Croce, has some suites with a terrace , from which you can see some of the city's buildings and its beautiful bell towers .

The facilities of the Casual RinascimentoFirenze & Spa , which offers a buffet breakfast service , also include a bar in the reception, a small interior garden with lemon trees, and a charming spa , which has been built on what were once the foundations of the Roman amphitheater in Florence, and has a 25-meter indoor pool , a sauna and a large relaxation area .

Finally, it should be noted that Casual Rinascimento Firenze & Spa is a “ Pet Lovers ” complex and offers free accommodation for up to two pets weighing up to 25 kilos each, provided that this is booked through the website www.casualhoteles.com .

This Christmas, make your holidays the best gift for children.

In 2018, Casual Hoteles , a leading themed urban accommodation company in Spain, signed an agreement with the NGO “ Save the Children ,” whose main objective has since been to raise awareness about the need to defend children's rights . This alliance led to the creation of a “ solidarity room ” in each of the establishments * that the Valencian group has in 11 cities in Spain and Portugal .

They maintain the characteristic theme of Casual Hotels but also include informative material and photographs of the different programs that “ Save the Children ” carries out around the world.

From 2018 to 2021 , Casual Hoteles donated 22,204 euros to "Save the Children" by collecting 5% of the "solidarity rooms" reservations at the group's hotels during those years.

The check corresponding to the funds raised in 2022 will be presented next March , and in addition, looking ahead to 2023 , Casual Hotels and “Save the Children” plan to continue holding charity breakfasts and training sessions that will serve to promote this goal of raising awareness in defense of children among the Casual community .

If you've already decided and want your Christmas vacation this year to be charitable and help children , stay in Casual Hoteles ' " solidarity rooms ." We look forward to seeing you!
