July 11, 2023. If you enjoy medieval traditions, or are passionate about Star Wars and the Gundam aesthetic, you can't miss the Unicorn Festival in Vinci this summer. This Tuscan village, located 26 kilometers from Florence, hosts one of the most extravagant and fun events in Italy.
We're talking about the Unicorn Festival , which will take place from July 21st to 23rd. For three days, the city will be transformed into a monumental medieval market, featuring countless activities and workshops, including troubadour concerts, falconry competitions, galleon battles, duels, and esoteric rituals, among many others.
Also, on the 21st, at 7:15 p.m., one of the most anticipated events will take place: the Unicorn Army Parade, a spectacular parade made up of lovers of fantasy creatures, open to any man, woman, or child who wishes to participate. If you want to participate, sign up on this website and choose the character you want to represent.
To date, most registrants will be dressing up in Game of Thrones, Steampunk, and Star Wars costumes, a saga that will also feature heavily in this year's Unicorn Party program.
Themed makeup workshops to emulate characters like Darth Vader and Princess Leia, lightsaber classes, board games, and various shows will be added to the festive program to satisfy the hundreds of fans of the legendary science fiction film expected to attend.
Casual Rinascimento Firenze, a tribute to Vinci's most illustrious resident :
One of the most illustrious residents of Villa Vinci was the great Leonardo, a leading figure of the Italian Renaissance, born in 1452 in the Tuscan town. If you want to complete this enticing experience, stay in Florence and choose an equally striking and historic design hotel, such as the centrally located 37-room Casual Rinascimento Firenze , a property you'll love for its elegant Renaissance atmosphere and its completely disruptive and contemporary approach.
In its rooms, you'll find images of the work of artists, thinkers, and scientists who, under the great patron Lorenzo de Medici, aptly nicknamed "Lorenzo the Magnificent," made Florence the artistic center of the world. Among them, of course, is Leonardo da Vinci, whose legendary painting "The Last Supper" and his beautiful "Mona Lisa" appear in futuristic versions.
